Before following let's first understand what gluten is and who really needs to avoid it.

Gluten is a protein found in wheat, barley, rye, and so on. It aids in proper digestion. Essentially, avoiding gluten may only be necessary in cases of diagnosed issues, namely gluten intolerance. In these cases, consuming gluten can lead to serious health problems.

However, for most healthy individuals, going gluten-free is not necessary and may even be undesirable, as gluten is a source of valuable nutrients such as fiber, minerals, and vitamins. Avoiding gluten without medical necessity can result in a deficiency of these essential components.

Who Should Consider Going Gluten-Free?

It's important to note that replacing regular gluten-containing products with special gluten-free alternatives may be less nutritious and contain more additives, such as sugar, salt, and fat. Therefore, before going gluten-free, consult a doctor to avoid vitamin and mineral deficiencies and maintain a healthy balance in your diet.

Does Going Gluten-Free Help with Weight Loss?

Going gluten-free is not a standalone weight loss method. Avoiding gluten may lead you to cut out baked goods, sweets, ready-made meals, processed foods, and fast food.

However, for weight loss, it's always important to reduce overall calorie intake, increase physical activity, and balance your diet based on healthy foods. Going gluten-free may be one aspect of a healthy lifestyle, but by itself, it does not guarantee significant weight loss."

Preventing questions, I can say that I can easily do without gluten, but I can also easily allow myself to eat a slice of pizza or a small piece of cake once a week or on holidays. The most important thing here is not to neglect quantity.
